Chapter 2: mission in life; project 'kill evry bug in the world'

I was savin this 4 a later chapter but i couldn't wait!
this whole proj began with an "it concerns me..." speech in yr 9 (13 yrs old).
Title was "it concerns me that there are insects still livin in this world"~ sounds boring bt it was jst 1 of the randomest things that popped into my head n i'v neva bn gud @ speeches anyway yet that was a pretty gud one.
anyhoo..
the title of the project of my mission in life is pretty self explanatory so i'll move on2 da next one.
Project 'highlight'
recently the pet fish stores have developed a new wacky creation- fish the colour of highlighters (originally had transparent scales). this was da inspiration 4 this project.

yesterday i caught a massive fly under the special cup i always catch bugs in [used 2 b the stand 4 my mini globe]. i dont do it on purpose.. its jst tat mum threw out me bug zapper electricutioner racket thing when i didnt put it "where it belongd" plus it stank when the bugs sizzled. i try 2 minimise the torture so i only use it on big bugs/spiders when im too scared 2 squish them by hand/tissue.

anyway i caught it n i thot.. i dont want it 2 die a slow painful death cuz thats jst torture. i'll gt a vacuum cleaner.
then i thot, na. i hate bugs (flies especially) so i testd 2 c if highlighters were toxic. on a scrap piece of paper [kids dont try this @ home] i drew a puddle of yellow highlighter n manouverd(?) the cup ovr it where it began 2 feast. i thot mayb it'll turn yellow since~"u r wat u eat".

this morn it was dead.
afta sch today i spotted anotha fly on my desk. it was the cutest fly i'd eva seen. it crawled under a small pile of tousled paper held up by a twink disperser(?) so i slowly took away the twink n it gt stuck n went bzz bzz til he was loose n craweld out in2 the open where i caught it wid the cup.

i thot i'd experiment n find the speed of highlighter poison.. [o yea its funny cuz on da highlighter it says 'nutrition 4 eyes' under da brand cuz theyr from an eyedrop company hehe i wonder hw many ppl put the highlighter in their eyes.] so i gav it a puddle n it sipped away. thn i gav it anotha puddle n it was sooo cute! it gt pissed off when i tried 2 move it 2 the fresh puddle cuz it wasn entirely done yet n its lil straw was stil stuck on the paper @ the edge of the cup so i had 2 force it away.

i gav it abt 10x10cm n i thot if tis cute lil guy makes it im gona kp it n turn it in2 a yellow fly.
1 hour later it died
observations:-after death found shiny(oily) highlighter-yellow coloured blobs of shit on da paper (a lot)
-suckd longer da wetter it was.
-once finishd it wud start crawlin in search 4 mor

4 nxt time:- dun giv it highlighter n c if it dies anyway- lack of oxygen
-nx nx observ death process (didn c tis time) ~c if its a sudden or slow death.

specimen number 3: nov. 5th
this one was livelier than the others. too nervous n nt hungry 2 eat highlighter. afta a long time in da sun(it was a sunny day) i gav it a tiny bit cuz didn wana waste anymor h/l. n it took it.
i didn actually realize wen it died. bt wen i was ready 2 feed it mor i moved the cup n realized it was dead even tho it was stil standin..
dehydration i suspect i also found a whole heap o shit on da paper (wasn yellow tis time)
so in conclusion i thnk h/l poison dehydrates flies.

*2008 update ok does this even qualify as a chapter in my life? perhaps..
i have this more recent thing with spiders.. that's in the past now kinda.. but it was a big part of my life at some point but for valid reasons.
